The second easiest exercise on the face of the planet is singing triads, that is three note scale. Now you might be forgiven for thinking, “wouldn’t that be easier than singing a five-note scale? Fewer notes, easier to sing right!” Nope. Actually, it can be surprising just how much more challenging it can be when you remove two notes, the second and the forth, requiring the voice to navigate the slightly larger steps of the major and minor thirds respectively.
The easy nature of the three note scale allows you to focus on a whole range of things simultaneously, so remain attentive to all that is going on. Again, the best way to get the full benefit of this exercise, as well as many others, is to download my singing exercise CD and start practically workshopping the exercise with your own voice.
